Hello my friends. Let’s talk men… Or men’s cards, to be precise. Many cardmakers find masculine cards designs challenging. I do to. I think what seems to be the most difficult about that is the choice of colours. Men’s cards are usually less colourful, more calm, darker. I don’t really know why. I haven’t made many of strictly masculine designs but there are a few I wanted to share with you. They are quite easy to make and will hopefully inspire you to create some lovely cards for Father’s Day.
A surprise and a request
Before I get to the men’s cards designs I wanted to introduce SPRING BURST paper pack – a pack of high quality digital papers I made myself. These are all my own designs painted and scanned in high quality, available to buy in my Etsy store. There’s more! There are 12 designs in the pack – masculine patterns too! And there is a HUGE BONUS when you buy this pack – an even bigger pack of papers ready to be printed and used on your projects!
Here is what you get:
Closer look at the designes

Let’s get ready for Father’s Day – classy masculine cards designs
First men’s card I would like to share with you is this simple, manly design. It is easy to make – all you need is…
Kraft card, checked patterned paper, a large sentiment stamp (and your favourite pen or marker to colour it in). Simple and very classy, isn’t it?
The second card is also a simple one – quick and easy to make with some stamps, checked paper, Kraft card and a pair of scissors. You can buy this card here if you like it.
A different kind of classy design
If you fancy more shiny designs, this is something you need to try. An embossing folder and paint sticks to make the shiny textured background and
Steam punk design – kind of…
Now let’s look at somewhat different masculine cards designs – a fun design that I made a while ago using an image of gears printed on photo paper, with some diecut gears in gold, on patterned paper in navy blue with golden foiliage. It’s a kind of steam punk design which can fit the taste of any dad who likes mechanics. This card is also available to buy – click here to get it.
Or something for a more chilled out dad, who is a music fan and likes to eat out 😉 This dimensional design is quite easy to make. Available to buy as well – just click here.
Sports fan? No problem!
And if you are looking for masculine cards designs for a rugby fan dad (or any sports fan dad) – here’s e cute design card that will fit the bill – embossed panels, checked papers, die cut ball and stamped and cut sentiment – there are many ways to use this layout – try and share your results with me 🙂
If you wish to buy this card – just head over to my store here and get it before it’s gone.
Not a Father’s Day card but a cool design
This card I made for my OH – he had his birthday a few days ago. I think this is my favourite of all the masculine cards designs – a bit vintage and grungy. He loves maps and vintage designs so this one seemed perfect. I used distress oxides on the pattered paper as well as on the stamped and die-cut elements and it really added interest and texture to this design. I must say I like it very much and will make more of these soon.
So it’s all for today – I hope you find my masculine cards designs inspirational and will share your makes with me. I would love to know your thoughts on male designs – do you find them easy to make or are they a bit of a challenge? Comment bellow and share your thoughts 🙂
See you next time! xx
